Helen Mullender - Clarinet and Saxophone

Picture
Helen started to develop her musical interests at the age of 8 playing the recorder. She soon progressed to clarinet and piano, and passed her Grade 8 with distinction in Year 10. Helen gained a place at the Junior Department of the Guildhall School of Music in London and studied under Professor Anton Weinberg for three years. At this time she also added saxophone and flute to her instrumental interests. After her A levels, Helen studied for four years at Trinity College of music, and gained an LTCL (TD) and FTCL qualification. Helen has performed extensively in theatre productions, orchestras, jazz groups, woodwind ensembles and bands, and has toured Holland, Belgium, Germany and Algeria. Helen has continued to perform and teach woodwind since leaving Music College, and currently also delivers curriculum music to KS1 and KS2. She has been Musical Director for numerous school productions and leads a choir and recorder club.
