Miles Nipper - Bassoon
Miles is a freelance Bassoonist, Contrabassoonist, Teacher, Arranger and Conductor and regularly performs as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player around Dorset and southern Britain. His passion is promoting the Solo Contrabassoon repertoire.
Miles has been playing the Bassoon since 1976 and studied with Vernon Elliot (who composed Ivor the Engine) and at The Royal Military School of Music (Kneller Hall) at various times during a 22 year career in Army Music.
Miles is the Bass End of "The Wandering Winds" and the founder of the Jurassic Bassoons Quartet and ‘Everything Bassoon’. He is The Treasurer and Advertising Manager of the British Double Reed Society.
2016/17 sees Miles directing a series of chamber workshops for wind players and the start of a brand new orchestra project in North Dorset.
